Hello! My name is Karla Svedarsky and I hail from Eleva, WI. My path to teaching was a bit unconventional starting out with two BS degrees from UWEC in Biology & Kinesiology. From there I worked as an EKG tech, cardiac rehab tech, and health educator for a large clinic and hospital. I then earned my MA in Instruction (grades K-8) and taught many subjects and grade levels at Eleva-Strum and Eau Claire public schools for 6 years along with coaching varsity sports. From there I earned my MS in Biology and instructed science and wellness classes at CVTC for 12 years. Wanting to try something different, I helped my friend (who is a Family Practice MD) launch a thriving direct-pay clinic in Eau Claire and Menomonie for the past 4 years as her office manager, phlebotomist, and EMT. And now, I’m long-term subbing for Mrs. Kavajecz in the spring of 2018. When I’m not taking classes to further my passion for life-long learning, I spend time with my husband (Andy), two biological daughters (Halle 16 & Wynne 12), one foreign exchange daughter from Beijing (Huiying 16), 2 dogs, 8 cats, and 52K chickens on our farm.
