Mrs. Kathy Lexen has her bachelor of arts in secondary English and speech communications from UW-Eau Claire and has a varied teaching experience, including working with at-risk programs, subbing, homeschooling, teaching in brick & mortar schools, directing school plays, and, most recently, teaching middle school and high school English/Language Arts classes, reading labs, Credit Recovery, Sr. iForward, and now Freshman Academy. This will be Mrs. Lexen's 11th year teaching with iForward and her 2nd year as Battle of the Books Adviser. Her favorite part of teaching is getting to know the students and families and helping the students meet their goals.
Mrs. Lexen lives in nearby Frederic, Wisconsin with her husband, Kyle, sister Lucy, and two dogs. They make use of their 20 acres by gardening and keeping bees and enjoying visits from their adult children (and spouses) and several grandchildren. Besides spending time with her many family and friends and being involved in her church, Mrs. Lexen also enjoys gardening, reading, playing piano, traveling, shopping thrift, vintage, and antique stores, collecting books, cooking, and, always, learning new things!
